Make New Friends, But Keep the Old

Lots of wisdom can be found in old songs. This one, though sounding like a simple folk song, was written by a great hymnist, Joseph Parry:

Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.

Broaden your circle of friends, but don't neglect the center.

You'll be happier.
